Eco friendly art from the hills

Art made slowly,
the way the woods do it

Bear Hill Arts is the studio of Hadia Bjornbak: original oil paintings, signed archival prints, forged ironwork, hand knits, and puzzles cut from her own art. Every piece is made by hand with eco friendly materials.

The studio on the hill

A mountain retreat where every piece is made by hand.

Bear Hill Arts began as a single easel by a window facing the ridge. It grew into a working studio: oils drying on the wall, an anvil out back, wool on the needles, and puzzle boards stacked by the door.

Nothing here is mass produced, and nothing here is wasteful. Sustainable panels, FSC certified papers, reclaimed steel, natural fibers, and plastic free packaging. If you want something made for your own walls, just ask.

Commissions

Something painted just for you.

Portraits, pets, houses, and places that matter to you, painted in oil or drawn in colored pencil. Commissions start with a conversation about size, mood, and the light you want in the room.

A handful of commission slots open each season. Tell me what you have in mind and I will send back a quote and a timeline.

The artist behind Bear Hill Arts

Hadia Bjornbak

I work out of a small studio on a wooded hill in Michigan, where the light changes slowly and the work follows suit. My paintings start as conversations: with a face, a memory, a particular kind of weather, or a story I cannot stop thinking about.

Bear Hill Arts grew from that single easel into a studio that also makes hand forged ironwork, hand knits, and puzzles cut from my own paintings. Every material is chosen with care: FSC certified paper, reclaimed steel, natural fibers, and plastic free packaging. Nothing leaves here unless I would hang it, wear it, or use it myself.

A portrait in oil, a print sized for your hallway, or a forged piece for the door. If you can picture it, we can talk it through.
